Training Officer, Initial Resettlement Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the development of training materials and resources for the field, including Thinkific course modules for technical assistance.

• Manage the cultural orientation curriculum and local facilitation to ensure it aligns with program guidelines and documentation requirements.

• Facilitate regular virtual Cultural Orientations for the PIR Network and new arrivals.

• Monitor the completion of Cultural Orientation at both national and local levels.

• Implement training goals for new caseworker staff who lack similar local training opportunities.

• Follow up with new staff to ensure proper training implementation.

• Set objectives and standardize the peer-to-peer shadowing training process.

• Organize peer-learning opportunities and Community of Practice virtual meetings among offices.

• Organize, update, and promote training resources for field staff.

• Monitor training delivery, attendance, participant feedback, knowledge acquisition, and evaluations.

• Collaborate with field caseworkers on inquiries and needs outside the expertise of PIR Program Officers.

• Plan and assist in facilitating PIR Network Training meetings and resettlement conferences.

• Provide support for PIR monitoring at field offices as necessary.

• Travel up to 15% as required.

• Assist with additional training-related projects and service-line priorities.

• Self-motivated, collaborative, and a keen listener.

• Strong writing and editing skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

• Capability to conduct research and perform data analysis.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Experience in a grant-compliance environment.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Social Work or a related field (preferred).

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in refugee resettlement work (preferred).

• Familiarity with IRIS, Dynamics, SharePoint, and Asana (preferred).

• Overseas and/or cross-cultural experience (preferred).

• Experience working in Preferred Communities and the PC Gaps/IAR programs or Initial Resettlement (preferred).
