Traffic Agent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collect international documentation and arrange for domestic delivery to the designated location.

• Prepare traffic files along with instructions for delivery orders.

• Ensure the Bill of Lading is submitted as necessary.

• Collaborate with the Client Import Analyst and external parties to address missing documents, required information, and customer inquiries needed for customs release.

• Confirm the acquisition of Customs releases and steamship releases.

• Verify supplementary charges prior to invoice payments.

• Maintain productive relationships with clients, teams, coworkers, transport companies, and warehouses.

• Track and trace shipments to prevent storage and demurrage liabilities while confirming delivery completion.

• Process emails related to live shipments and import files into systems for clearance.

• Complete delivery orders and coordinate pickups.

• Arrange payment for freight and terminals via guarantee, check, or wire transfer as necessary.

• Report to the Manager of Service Delivery (US) or the Traffic Manager/Traffic Supervisor (Canada).

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.

• Understanding of credit policies, traffic, and forwarding methods and procedures.

• Capability to coordinate preferred delivery arrangements for clients with transportation companies.

• Familiarity with the customs release process.

• Proficient computer and Internet skills.

• Experience with MS Office applications.

• Knowledge of international transportation practices.

• Strong negotiation abilities.

• Client service orientation.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Good telephone etiquette.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
