Traffic Agent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collect international documentation and facilitate domestic delivery to the specified destination.

• Prepare traffic files and provide instructions for delivery orders.

• Ensure submission of the Bill of Lading when necessary.

• Collaborate with the Client Import Analyst and external entities regarding missing documents, required information, and customer inquiries essential for obtaining customs release.

• Verify that customs releases and steamship releases are secured.

• Confirm supplementary charges prior to invoice payments.

• Foster working relationships with clients, teams, colleagues, transport companies, and warehouses.

• Monitor and trace shipments to prevent storage/demurrage liabilities and ensure delivery completion.

• Manage emails related to live shipments and input import files into systems for clearance.

• Complete delivery orders and arrange for pickups.

• Facilitate payment of freight/terminals via guarantee, check, or wire transfer as necessary.

• Report to the Manager of Service Delivery (US) or Traffic Manager/Traffic Supervisor (Canada).

• Understanding of credit policies, traffic, and forwarding methods and procedures.

• Capability to coordinate preferred delivery arrangements for clients with transportation companies.

• Knowledge of the customs release process.

• Proficient in computer and internet skills.

• Experience with MS Office.

• Familiarity with international transportation.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• Client service-oriented mindset.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Proper telephone etiquette.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.

• Effective prioritization and time management skills.

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent is required.
