This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.
• Oversee and enhance a natural gas trading portfolio with a focus on the US East market.
• Utilize comprehensive market analysis and risk management to carry out physical and financial transactions.
• Initiate, formulate, and implement strategies to seize profitable term natural gas trading prospects in the US East region.
• Continuously monitor and assess market conditions, adjusting trades as necessary.
• Review trading processes and collaborate with trading teams to boost efficiency, transparency, and value-added initiatives.
• Assess, execute, and manage both short- and long-term storage positions across the US East region.
• Optimize seasonal spreads, power, and industrial loads to enhance incremental value.
• Develop trading and optimization strategies and lead origination efforts for their execution.
• Provide summaries of pertinent market conditions and opportunities to upper management.
• Establish and implement trading strategies to maximize EQT’s contractual pipeline capacity and storage assets.
• Collaborate with risk, operations, and commercial teams while ensuring compliance with firm risk limits and standards.
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to interpret market conditions and convert them into profitable outcomes.
• Familiarity with regional pipeline/storage infrastructure, supply and demand dynamics, and relationships with commercial entities.
• Proficiency in constructing a regional supply and demand model.
• Understanding of pipeline constraints, flows, costs, storage, contracts, end users, and scheduling.
• Experience in trading physical, futures, swaps, options, storage, index, and spreads.
• Ability to significantly contribute to natural gas commercial strategies.
• Established relationships with producers, pipelines, utilities, end users, and traders.
• Knowledge of intrinsic and extrinsic values related to transportation capacity and storage opportunities.
• Willingness to travel up to 10–20% of the time.
• Preferred: 5+ years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination.
• Preferred: A Master’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field.
• Remote work is not applicable to residents of California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless they are willing to relocate.
