This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Conduct independent research related to Customs as requested by clients.
• Execute HTS US classification projects across various products and sectors.
• Apply independent judgment during consulting projects for customers.
• Collaborate with both internal and external resources to ensure project completion aligns with client expectations and deadlines.
• Investigate and interpret government import regulations, applying them to specific client situations.
• Create solutions for intricate import and export challenges and suggest appropriate actions.
• Confirm compliance with U.S. Government regulatory requirements for import and export opinions.
• Analyze and interpret data received from clients and consultants.
• Conduct advanced data analysis for goods across all industries.
• Communicate with government departments to address client situations and projects.
• Organize and complete tasks according to project needs, customs regulations, and standards.
• Identify potential sales opportunities.
• Keep updated with Customs regulations, procedures, requirements, and federal trade laws.
• Participate in cross-training and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
• Assist Senior Trade Advisors with tasks and significant projects.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in customs brokerage or auditing is necessary.
• Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain a Customs Broker’s License, if offered the position.
• Obtaining a Customs Broker’s License includes U.S. Citizenship among other criteria.
• A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
• Experience with the Binding Ruling process and its submission is required.
• Familiarity with AD/CVD valuation is essential.
• Experience with USMCA eligibility verification is necessary.
• Knowledge of PGAs and PGA requirements is essential.
• Proficiency in HTS classification is required.
• Experience in determining Country of Origin, including familiarity with Free Trade Agreements, is necessary.
• Experience with Customs entry processing, particularly in a customs brokerage context, is essential.
• Ability to conduct advanced data analysis is required.
• Capability to stay informed on Customs regulations, procedures, requirements, and other federal laws impacting trade and Customs is essential.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% is required.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage a high volume of work is necessary.
• A high frequency of keyboarding and computer work is expected (67%–100% of the workday).
