Track Services Project Manager, Estimating

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Supervise rail construction and maintenance initiatives at active customer locations.

• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, internal teams, crews, equipment, and materials.

• Plan out workforce needs and project timelines.

• Inspect railroad tracks to identify issues and formulate project proposals along with pricing recommendations.

• Analyze RFPs and craft responses for customers.

• Manage project operations to ensure customer specifications are fulfilled.

• Ensure that work is conducted safely and adheres to company procedures and regulations.

• Foster customer relationships through service and operational support.

• Conduct inspections of crews, tools, vehicles, and equipment.

• Assist with pricing analysis, budgeting, cost tracking, and operational forecasts.

• Oversee payroll, fuel, equipment, and project expenditures.

• Manage inventory, purchase orders, and delivery of materials.

• Coordinate preventive maintenance programs in conjunction with mechanical teams.

• Finalize billing, auditing, evaluation, and project reporting.

• Lead and assist field crews to ensure project completion safely and on schedule.


⛳️ Requirements

• A college degree in Building and Construction Technology or equivalent experience in construction management is preferred.

• Prior experience in railroad construction, maintenance, or industrial operations is preferred.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

• Capability to read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, and safety protocols.

• Experience in preparing proposals, reports, and customer communications.

• Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost management, and project coordination.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Capability to lift and maneuver equipment as required.

• Willingness to travel as necessary.

• Compliance with all safety regulations is mandatory.

• Requires extensive walking, climbing, lifting, and physical activity.

• Ability to work near heavy equipment, moving machinery, and uneven terrain.
