Tour Guide, English Speaker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Guide small groups of 4–12 travelers on tours lasting 2–3 weeks throughout Japan.

• Deliver clear information about destinations and express enthusiasm for Japanese culture.

• Craft enjoyable and memorable experiences for travelers.

• Organize and prepare daily itineraries while being ready to adapt to unforeseen circumstances with a backup plan.

• Engage in training sessions and pre-tour briefings.

• Assist travelers with inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.

• Prioritize the safety of travelers and ensure that partners adhere to quality, safety, and sustainability standards.

• Respond efficiently to emergencies while maintaining composure and following established protocols.

• Report directly to the Executive Director of Japaventura.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English (C1 level) for effective communication with clients.

• Good command of Japanese (B2 level) to facilitate tour operations.

• Residing in Japan or having lived in Japan for at least one year.

• Extensive knowledge of Japan’s culture, traditions, daily life, history, and current events.

• Well-organized, dependable, motivated, and solution-oriented under pressure.

• Cooperative and communicative with a positive, professional attitude.

• Strong communication skills in English.

• Previous experience in tourism or as a guide is advantageous.
