Title Officer Advisory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Title Examination — Evaluate, analyze, and interpret public records, title reports, legal descriptions, maps, liens, encumbrances, and chain of title for accuracy and insurability.

• Risk Assessment — Identify potential title defects, evaluate underwriting risks, and propose appropriate requirements, exceptions, or endorsements.

• Issue Resolution — Address complex curative issues including probate, trust transfers, entity documentation, easements, boundary disputes, and vesting discrepancies.

• Underwriting Support — Work in conjunction with title underwriters to secure approvals for non-standard coverage, high-liability transactions, or unique property situations.

• Client Advisory — Offer expert advice to escrow officers, attorneys, lenders, brokers, and clients regarding title requirements, exceptions, and impacts on closing.

• Quality Control — Ensure precision and compliance with California state regulations, company policies, and underwriting standards.

• Documentation & Reporting — Create clear and concise title commitments, amendments, and explanatory notes for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Training & Mentorship — Assist junior examiners and escrow staff through coaching, technical training, and the review of complex files.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Title, which includes title searching, abstracting, and understanding assessors and tract maps.

• Ability to analyze title history data derived from back plant searches.

• Must be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and be tech-savvy.
