This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Oversee the progress of foreclosures through monitoring queues and reporting, ensuring that portfolios are managed efficiently and in compliance with state, federal, and investor regulations.
• Collaborate with foreclosure attorneys, external counsel, and in-house legal teams to address disputes related to properties where the bank or investors hold an interest.
• Act as the primary escalation point for team members, attorneys, and other departments.
• Ensure that FHA first legal deadlines are adhered to and track any necessary extension requests.
• Conduct research, validate, and update loans listed on foreclosure exception reports, including No Dual Track, cleanup, and investor timeline reports.
• Authorize additional attorney fees that exceed the approval limits set for associates and monitor/report legal expenses related to litigation files outside of foreclosure actions.
• Execute quality-control reviews and approve investor bidding instructions.
• Carry out regular side-by-sides, review assigned loans at least once every 30 days, update documentation, and ensure follow-up actions are taken.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, regulatory, and investor foreclosure guidelines.
• Revise, update, and implement procedures; develop new procedures; gather information and prepare presentations for investor, regulatory, and internal meetings.
• Uphold operational risk controls, internal control standards, and timely execution of audit and regulatory findings.
• Foster an environment that supports inclusivity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• A total of 4 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in a Default Servicing related field (e.g., Collections, REO, Loss Mitigation).
• Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Preferred: 3 years of experience in a Default Servicing related field (e.g., Collections, REO, Loss Mitigation).
• Preferred: Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Preferred: Familiarity with bank and departmental systems.
• Preferred: Knowledge of mortgage products, including home equity loans and lines of credit, as well as an understanding of general operations and systemic functions, including payment allocation and escrow.
