Therapist, Suicide Prevention Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Deliver evidence-based teletherapy for individuals, families, and guardians for youth aged 12–26 at high or critical risk of suicide.

• Employ family-systems frameworks, C-CBT, DBT skills, and Motivational Interviewing techniques.

• Administer validated suicide risk assessment tools, including the C-SSRS.

• Facilitate real-time safety planning, lethal means counseling, and crisis stabilization for youth and their families.

• Conduct monthly clinical assessments to evaluate acuity and monitor suicide risk trajectories.

• Tailor care frequency and treatment objectives based on the readiness of members and the capabilities of their families.

• Guide clinical safety strategies in collaboration with assigned Care Team Members and the Crisis Center.

• Provide crisis escalation responses, risk mitigation, triage, and rapid updates to safety plans.

• Complete prompt DAP clinical documentation that substantiates medical necessity, suicide risk levels, family interventions, and whole-person care for Medicaid FFS billing.

• Utilize video, secure messaging, and interactive safety applications to engage youth and caregivers effectively.

• Engage in interdisciplinary huddles, ensure registry accuracy, and monitor key performance indicators such as billable hours, documentation turnaround, and show rates.

• Collaborate with members, families, and healthcare providers to create individualized care plans.

• Develop and coordinate resources for medical, behavioral, suicide prevention, and social services.

• Identify and initiate referrals for financial, psychosocial, community, and state support services.

• Document member assessments, care plans, and referrals comprehensively.

• Maintain necessary records, reports, documentation, and diagnostic records, ensuring confidentiality is upheld.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or another relevant behavioral health discipline from an accredited institution is mandatory.

• A current independent behavioral health license from the Nevada Department of Health (NV DOH) is required.

• Eligible licenses include: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Professional Counselor (CPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist.

• A minimum of two years of direct experience working with adolescents and adults in the behavioral health sector is required.

• Experience in suicide prevention is strongly preferred.

• Training and experience in crisis intervention are necessary.

• Knowledge of local resources, social determinants of health, mental health, substance use disorders, interpersonal violence, and social issues is essential.

• Familiarity with Medicare or Medicaid practices is preferred.

• A relentless approach to prioritizing and independently executing assigned tasks.

• Exceptional time management and organizational skills to complete daily tasks effectively.

• Proficiency in computer use, including experience with electronic health records (EHR).

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment concerning sensitive member information.

• Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Capacity to convey information clearly and accurately to staff, business partners, stakeholders, and members.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take independent action to implement necessary changes.

• Proficiency in planning, organizing, managing time, and prioritizing multiple tasks and assignments.

• Ability to provide case management in both routine and crisis situations.

• A self-motivated, adaptable team player with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
