This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Facilitate, coordinate, and approve medically necessary reviews in line with established criteria.
• Assess clinical information and apply criteria for medical necessity.
• Provide consultations to ensure the appropriate use of resources and timely, accurate determinations, notifications, and reconsiderations.
• Conduct medical reviews to ascertain medical necessity and the suitable level of care.
• Analyze clinical documentation, diagnoses, and treatment plans to support decisions.
• Perform clinical assessments and offer recommendations to aid in care planning and meet member needs.
• Execute clinical triage.
• Collaborate with both internal and external care teams to formulate and implement care plans.
• Document clinical reviews, rationales, and determinations within required timelines and systems.
• Master’s degree in Physical Therapy.
• One (1) year of experience in utilization management or utilization review, which includes acute inpatient care, outpatient care, rehabilitation, behavioral health, compliance, or use of evidence-based clinical decision support tools (e.g., MCG, InterQual).
• Fully licensed by the North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners as a Physical Therapist.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must reside in North Carolina.
• Must be willing to travel within the designated catchment area as required.
• Clinical experience in a managed care organization, health plan, or hospital setting is preferred.
• Utilization Management certification or equivalent certification is preferred.
