This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Implement treatment plans designed by the supervising Occupational Therapist, while monitoring each patient's progress throughout the process.
• Instruct patients in acquiring new skills or assist them in relearning daily activities that may have been affected by illness or injury.
• Evaluate patients’ functional capabilities and home environments to pinpoint risks and potential for increased independence.
• Maintain clear and timely clinical documentation, noting any changes in a patient’s condition for the supervising therapist's attention.
• Guide families and caregivers on how to facilitate recovery at home.
• Collaborate with the broader care team through case conferences, in-services, and continuous communication.
• Consult with your supervising Occupational Therapist at least once every 30 days to assess care and outcomes.
• Graduate from an occupational therapy assistant program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Current national certification from AOTA.
• Active state license in accordance with state licensure regulations.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a COTA.
• Current CPR certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and a dependable, insured vehicle for travel to patient residences.
