This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver robust and sustainable business results while making a meaningful impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases alongside Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize customers, accounts, and referral networks with high potential.
• Implement tailored account strategies to enhance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and continuity.
• Formulate and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategies.
• Maintain precise records of customers, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Develop accounts within health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks across both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Foster trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care teams.
• Map out influence and decision-making processes in complex accounts to secure strategic next steps.
• Coordinate compliant account actions in collaboration with field partners.
• Articulate complex scientific and clinical information in a clear and credible manner.
• Implement approved promotional programs and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Influence multiple stakeholders without authority and effectively navigate resistance.
• Ensure patients and caregivers remain central to decisions regarding territory and accounts.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in overcoming patient-journey obstacles.
• Identify and highlight barriers related to customer access and patient support.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field to inform strategy, messaging, training, resources, customer experience, and implementation.
• Contribute to business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Operate with a sense of ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, and resilience in a rapidly changing rare-disease landscape.
• Exemplify Mirum's values and standards of ethical conduct, compliance, transparency, inclusion, and respect.
• A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving business results in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or another complex specialty market is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical aptitude with the ability to learn, retain, and convey complex information regarding disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and product details.
• Experience with account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling techniques to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behavior, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret performance data, identify insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into actionable field execution.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication abilities, presentation skills, judgment, trust-building, self-motivation, resourcefulness, resilience, organization, prioritization, and independent performance capabilities.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend commitments.
