This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business results while making a significant impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge regarding rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver product line.
• Identify and prioritize high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies that enhance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and ongoing care.
• Formulate and execute territory business strategies that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to uncover opportunities and refine territory strategies.
• Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Develop strategic accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care team members.
• Navigate influence and decision-making processes within complex accounts and secure actionable next steps.
• Coordinate compliant actions across Mirum field partners.
• Convey intricate scientific and clinical information in a clear and credible manner.
• Implement approved promotional programs and customer engagements while adhering to company policies and regulations.
• Influence stakeholders without direct authority and constructively manage resistance.
• Keep patients and caregivers at the forefront of territory and account decisions.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in overcoming patient-journey obstacles.
• Identify and address customer, access, and patient-support challenges.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable field insights that inform strategy, messaging, training, resources, customer experience, and execution.
• Contribute to business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Operate with ownership, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and initiative in a fast-paced rare-disease environment.
• Create engagement opportunities, test various approaches, learn quickly, and transform insights into action.
• Maintain performance under pressure and uncertainty, recover promptly, and strive for long-term objectives.
• Seek feedback, apply coaching, and continuously enhance clinical, strategic, and sales skills.
• Exemplify Mirum's values through ethical, compliant, transparent, inclusive, and respectful behavior.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving business results in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or another complex specialty market is a plus.
• Strong clinical aptitude with the ability to learn, retain, and communicate complex disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical data, and product information.
• Experience in account-based selling within health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Proficient in using insight-led or challenger-style selling to positively challenge the status quo, influence behavior, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Understanding of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services within rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret performance data, identify insights, develop territory and account strategies, and execute plans in the field.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and relationship-building capabilities.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and able to prioritize tasks while working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend obligations.
