This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Achieve robust, sustainable business outcomes while making a significant impact on patient care within a designated territory.
• Cultivate extensive clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases as well as Mirum's Liver product line.
• Identify and prioritize high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies that promote disease awareness, enhance patient identification, and facilitate treatment initiation and maintenance.
• Formulate and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to discover opportunities and refine strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive records for customers, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Develop strategic partnerships with healthcare accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care team members.
• Navigate complex accounts to map influence and decision-making processes while securing appropriate next steps.
• Coordinate compliant account actions in collaboration with field partners.
• Clearly and credibly convey complex scientific and clinical information.
• Execute approved promotional initiatives and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Influence a range of stakeholders without direct authority and effectively manage resistance.
• Keep patients and caregivers central to all territory and account decisions.
• Work with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in understanding resources and overcoming patient-journey obstacles.
• Elevate ongoing customer, access, and patient-support challenges to internal teams.
• Collaborate with teams across Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field to enhance strategy, messaging, training, resources, customer experiences, and execution.
• Contribute to business evaluations, training initiatives, team meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate ownership, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and initiative in a fast-paced rare disease context.
• Create engagement opportunities, experiment with new methods, learn rapidly, and convert insights into actionable strategies.
• Maintain performance levels amidst pressure, uncertainty, obstacles, delays, and discouragement.
• Seek constructive feedback, embrace coaching, and enhance clinical, strategic, and sales competencies.
• Embody Mirum's values and maintain ethical, compliant, transparent, inclusive, and respectful professional conduct.
• A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business objectives in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding and the ability to learn, retain, and communicate intricate disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product information.
• Proficient in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Capability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling to constructively question the status quo, influence behaviors, and advance customer decision-making.
• Solid understanding of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen, including the ability to interpret performance data, extract insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into field execution.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and trust-building abilities.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and able to prioritize effectively while working independently in a dynamic and uncertain environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight stays and occasional weekend obligations.
