This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business outcomes while making a significant impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate expertise in the clinical aspects and account management of rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize key customers, accounts, and referral networks with high potential.
• Implement tailored account strategies to enhance disease awareness, facilitate patient identification, and promote treatment initiation and adherence.
• Create and execute business plans for the territory that align with national, zone, and regional goals.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategies.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Cultivate relationships with health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish trustworthy relationships with healthcare professionals and care teams.
• Analyze influence and decision-making processes in complex accounts to secure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Accurately and credibly communicate intricate scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional initiatives and customer engagements in line with company policies and regulations.
• Engage multiple stakeholders effectively, overcoming resistance to advance customer decision-making.
• Keep the needs of patients and caregivers central to decisions made in the territory and accounts.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services teams to address barriers faced in the patient journey.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, Advocacy, and other cross-functional teams.
• Gather actionable field insights to contribute to business reviews, training sessions, meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resilience, curiosity, coachability, and a commitment to Mirum's values and ethical standards.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven success in consistently achieving business results in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science marketplace.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical aptitude with the capability to learn, retain, and effectively communicate complex information related to disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and product knowledge.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling techniques to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behavior, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services within rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret performance data, derive insights, develop territory and account strategies, and implement plans effectively in the field.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and the ability to establish trust with a diverse range of customers.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing and performing independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• A commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver’s license with the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend commitments.
