This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business outcomes while positively impacting patient care in a designated territory.
• Cultivate expertise in clinical aspects and account management related to rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver product line.
• Identify and prioritize key customers, accounts, and referral networks with high potential.
• Implement tailored account strategies to enhance disease awareness, facilitate patient identification, and promote treatment initiation and adherence.
• Create and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive records of customer interactions, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Establish strategic partnerships with accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks within hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Foster relationships with healthcare professionals and care teams; understand account influence and decision-making processes.
• Coordinate compliant actions across field partners within accounts.
• Convey complex scientific and clinical information while executing approved promotional programs in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Influence diverse stakeholders, manage resistance, and enhance customer experiences focused on patients and caregivers.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in overcoming patient journey obstacles.
• Work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field and contribute to business reviews, training sessions, meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resilience, curiosity, and dedication to Mirum's values and ethical standards.
• A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven success in consistently achieving business results within a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding and capability to learn, retain, and articulate intricate disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product knowledge.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling techniques to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behaviors, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Working knowledge of access and reimbursement processes, patient support pathways, and patient services in the rare disease sector.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance data, derive insights, formulate territory and account strategies, and translate plans into effective field execution.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to build trust with a diverse customer base.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing and working independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
• Proven track record of successful cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical practices, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional strategies.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend obligations.
