Thai - English Translator, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Thailand.

📋 Description

• Translate project documentation between Thai and English, encompassing business requirements, user stories, test cases, user manuals, training materials, and release notes.

• Work in collaboration with Business Analysts and Project Managers to effectively capture and communicate requirements from clients who speak Thai.

• Participate in client meetings, workshops, and demonstrations with Thai clients, providing live interpretation and taking notes.

• Assist in written communication with Thai clients through emails, meeting minutes, follow-ups, and requests for clarification.

• Review Thai-language content for correctness, tone, and coherence.

• Localize product and platform content for Thai users while ensuring consistent terminology.

• Develop and maintain a Thai–English glossary of insurance and technical terminology.

• Identify wording that may be ambiguous, culturally inappropriate, or subject to misinterpretation for Thai audiences.

• Aid in general project coordination and provide administrative support for Thai projects.

• Execute other assigned tasks as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent or native-level proficiency in both Thai and English, both written and spoken.

• Excellent written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on detail and precision.

• Comfortable working with documentation and adhering to a consistent structure and format.

• Capable of working independently in a fully remote environment while proactively communicating across time zones.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• Availability to work at least 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.

• For interns: currently enrolled in or a graduate of a degree program in Communication, Languages, Translation, English, Linguistics, or a related field.

• For experienced translators: 1–3 years of relevant experience in Thai-English translation.

• An interest in insurance, technology, or insurtech is preferred.

• Previous experience in translation, interpretation, or localization is a plus.

• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Jira, or Confluence is advantageous.
