Thai - English Translator, Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Thailand.

📋 Description

• Translate project documentation between Thai and English, which includes business requirements, user stories, test cases, user manuals, training materials, and release notes.

• Work collaboratively with Business Analysts and Project Managers to ensure that requirements from Thai-speaking clients are accurately captured and comprehended by the delivery team.

• Participate in client meetings, workshops, and demonstrations with Thai clients to provide real-time interpretation and take notes.

• Assist with written communication directed at Thai clients, encompassing emails, meeting minutes, follow-ups, and requests for clarification.

• Review Thai-language content generated by the team to ensure accuracy, tone, and consistency.

• Localize product and platform content for Thai users while maintaining consistent terminology.

• Develop and sustain a Thai–English glossary of insurance and technical terminology.

• Identify wording that may be vague, culturally inappropriate, or subject to misinterpretation for Thai audiences.

• Provide general project coordination and administrative support for Thai-related projects.

• Undertake any other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a degree program in Communication, Languages, Translation, English, Linguistics, or a related field.

• Fluent or native-level proficiency in both Thai and English, in both written and spoken forms.

• Exceptional written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

• Comfortable working with documentation while adhering to a consistent structure and format.

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and communicate proactively across different time zones.

• Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• An interest in insurance, technology, or insurtech is preferred.

• Previous experience in translation, interpretation, or localization is an added advantage.

• Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Jira, or Confluence is a plus.

• Must be willing to work at least 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.
