Test Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create documentation for test scenarios, automate test cases, and devise solutions to enhance the test automation framework.

• Review automation executions and resolve any failures encountered.

• Document test cases for new products or features and generate automated test cases.

• Design, develop, and maintain UI and API test scripts.

• Document and manage test cases utilizing Xray Test Management.

• Create and sustain Cucumber test scripts to achieve over 80% automated test coverage.

• Increase test coverage by documenting and automating test cases derived from production bugs.

• Analyze run lists to pinpoint long-running processes or steps for optimization and tuning.

• Contribute to discussions regarding test case design and test planning.

• Engage in a Scrum team and ensure progress towards commitments and sprint objectives.

• Tackle technical challenges and collaborate with teammates and Software Engineers across various scrum teams.

• Apply software design principles to develop maintainable UI test scripts.

• Conduct peer reviews of Cucumber scripts and offer constructive feedback for improvements.

• Estimate workload and ensure consistent throughput in alignment with sprint goals.

• Identify chances to enhance test coverage and the automation framework.

• Integrate and sustain test automation within CI/CD across various environments.

• Define data, rules, and testing requirements.

• Create, establish, and maintain test data and test companies for automation purposes.

• Share knowledge, mentor team members, and advocate for quality and test automation.

• Conduct manual testing as required.

• Collaborate with Product and Developers to clarify requirements and formulate a test strategy.

• Assess failing tests to uncover root causes.

• Undertake other assigned tasks and adhere to policies and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in automating tests for a SaaS product.

• Basic understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS).

• Proficient in Test Case documentation, Test Plans, Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing, Test Coverage, and Defect Detection.

• Skilled in scripting tests using Cucumber (Gherkin).

• Familiarity with Xray, HP Quality Center, TestRail, Eclipse IDE, GitLab, Selenium, Postman, and SoapUI.

• Experience with Java, XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is advantageous.

• Comfortable documenting and tracking project work using Jira and Confluence.

• Experience collaborating within a team of 5 or more software and test engineers in a fully remote setting.

• Knowledge of distributed version control systems such as Git.

• Proficient in using Windows, Linux, and iOS.

• Experience with benefits administration is a plus.

• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and time effectively.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in using Microsoft tools such as Teams, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Committed to following tasks through to completion.

• Experience with AWS, Docker, Jest, SQL, and Liquibase is a plus.

• Ability to troubleshoot failing tests with minimal information.

• Experience in defining, estimating, and tracking test automation tasks.

• Strong understanding of Agile and CI/CD methodologies.
