This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Create automation strategies and testing solutions for the Dealer Inspire product.
• Assess software functionality, design, and execute test cases for code under development.
• Test code during the development phase.
• Automate tests and conduct functional, integration, system-wide, regression, security, and performance tests.
• Establish processes, practices, and tools for software testing and automation.
• Document and finalize testing practices while educating project teams.
• Develop and implement automated testing strategies, including regression suites for both new and existing production code.
• Design and execute automation scripts for functional, integration, and performance testing.
• Measure test coverage and metrics, and effectively communicate and report on results.
• Build dedicated software testing and automation functions in collaboration with partners and engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Work alongside engineers and product managers to execute tests and analyze test results and coverage.
• Promote and communicate the adoption of software testing best practices throughout the SDLC.
• Operate and enhance test programs and software testing systems.
• Mentor and lead SDETs, providing coaching on test automation and strategies.
• Influence stakeholders across design, engineering, and technology.
• At least 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, or in related roles.
• Extensive knowledge of testing web-based applications at both the web service and UI layers using Playwright.
• Experience in testing integrations and performance, as well as building mock services, is advantageous.
• Advanced understanding of debugging code, software development languages, and testing tools.
• Strong attention to detail, along with debugging and software troubleshooting skills.
• Capability to collect and analyze data and test results to report findings, coverage, and conclusions.
• Exceptional mentoring and communication skills, with the ability to guide and train others.
• Experience in full stack testing is considered a plus.
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, Node, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Rust, and MySQL is a benefit.
• Familiarity with job queue/messaging systems is advantageous.
• Experience in leading projects or serving as a team lead is a bonus.
