Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and assess test cases and scenarios produced by autonomous testing agents.

• Analyze results from autonomous test executions to validate the legitimacy of identified failures and risks.

• Identify false positives, false negatives, duplicate findings, and deficiencies in autonomous test coverage.

• Ensure autonomous agents accurately interpret requirements, application functionalities, workflows, and anticipated behavior.

• Conduct targeted manual and exploratory testing to verify the outcomes of autonomous testing.

• Examine screenshots, execution logs, network activity, API responses, and overall system behavior.

• Validate essential user journeys, integrations, edge cases, and business rules.

• Reproduce and document confirmed defects for remediation by application development teams.

• Retest resolved defects ensuring fixes do not introduce regression issues.

• Maintain traceability among requirements, autonomous tests, validation outcomes, defects, and supporting evidence.

• Collaborate with developers, product teams, security personnel, and government stakeholders to clarify expected system behavior.

• Adhere to security, access-control, data handling, and system-use protocols in government environments.

• Safeguard government, sensitive, proprietary, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

• Complete mandatory security and cybersecurity awareness training and sustain compliance.

• Provide human judgment to ensure the reliability of autonomous testing results for engineering and release decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in professional software testing or quality engineering.

• Extensive experience with functional, regression, integration, API, and exploratory testing.

• Proven experience in analyzing test failures and differentiating application defects from test, data, configuration, or environment issues.

• Strong grasp of software testing principles and test design methodologies.

• Experience in interpreting requirements, acceptance criteria, user stories, and technical documentation.

• Working knowledge of test automation concepts and automated test execution.

• Experience in testing web applications and APIs.

• Capability to investigate application behavior using developer tools, logs, network requests, API responses, and other technical evidence.

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.

• Excellent defect documentation and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in a remote and security-focused engineering environment.

• Must reside in the United States.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Must successfully complete the required background investigation and adjudication.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust determination.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain access to relevant DoD/government information systems, including the completion and approval of DD Form 2875 when necessary.

• Must complete required cybersecurity, information assurance, privacy, and security-awareness training.

• Must adhere to applicable government and organizational regulations regarding system access, credentials, sensitive information, and acceptable use.

• Must maintain continued eligibility for government system access throughout employment as required.

• Preferred experience with U.S. federal government or Department of Defense software programs, AI-powered or autonomous testing platforms, AI-generated test validation, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, WebdriverIO, API testing tools, Jira, CI/CD, Section 508/accessibility testing, and government cybersecurity/CUI requirements.
