QA/Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum team to support the delivery of CloudMargin SaaS applications

• Take ownership of quality within the Scrum team, encompassing testing strategies, automation, and release-quality decisions

• Establish testing requirements and contribute to the broader CloudMargin Test community and Test Strategy

• Create clear test plans for intricate distributed architectures

• Organize and coordinate testing activities to ensure each iteration is safe for release

• Develop and maintain E2E and API automation with Playwright, including fixtures, parallelization, and trace-based debugging

• Ensure automated suites are efficient, reliable, and trusted while managing flakiness

• Integrate automation into CI/CD quality gates for early and continuous feedback

• Conduct exploratory, regression, smoke, usability, security, and performance testing

• Be responsible for the go/no-go quality signal for releases

• Experiment with and assess AI-assisted test creation and maintenance, reviewing and owning all outputs

• Contribute to the testing of CloudMargin AI features, including the evaluation of non-deterministic behavior

• Document test strategies, decisions, and rationale

• Work collaboratively with engineers, product teams, and technology leadership

• Share testing practices and provide mentorship to teammates

• Maintain a centralized record of test cases, results, and defects

• Continuously enhance tooling, processes, and testing practices

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years or equivalent experience in software testing / QA

• At least 2 years or equivalent experience with web technologies

• Practical E2E automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, or a similar modern framework

• Familiarity with testing APIs and backend services using Postman, REST clients, or similar tools

• Experience with AI-assisted development or testing tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Playwright MCP (preferred)

• Background in a regulated or financial services environment (preferred)

• Knowledge of software testing techniques and methodologies, including regression, smoke, exploratory, usability, security, and performance testing

• Proficiency in debugging code and scripting in JavaScript / TypeScript

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and quality gates

• Exposure to distributed systems and modern web hosting, especially AWS

• Understanding of the Agile manifesto and Scrum framework

• Strong judgment on what to automate and when to incorporate human oversight

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
