This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, implement, and sustain automated unit, integration, and comprehensive functional test scripts.
• Guarantee that automated test cases are runnable by the conclusion of each Agile sprint and submitted for the Government-managed DevSecOps pipeline.
• Compose test cases prior to code development to support Test-Driven Development, collaborating closely with software developers.
• Evaluate application areas for gaps in test coverage and contribute to the Test Automation State Assessment and the automation completion strategy.
• Automate related legacy test cases to enhance regression test coverage.
• Perform non-automated test cases.
• Assist with Requirements Traceability Matrices at the conclusion of each development cycle or sprint.
• Record test activities, execution outcomes, and defect discoveries in the Government-provided Test Case Management System.
• Contribute to Testing Reports, Release Notes, and Software Version Descriptions.
• Uphold quality thresholds.
• Triage, track, analyze, replicate, and escalate defects in JIRA.
• Facilitate weekly defect escalation reporting and monitor defects reported by customers.
• Perform WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility testing.
• Assist with VPATs, remediation reports, conformance documentation, and Section 508 compliance status reporting.
• Support stress and load testing within the ProdSim environment.
• Aid in Disaster Recovery testing alongside technical and operations teams.
• Support Independent Verification & Validation of application modifications.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Maintain sprint-level defect tracking, test case completion status, and burn-down metrics in JIRA.
• Comply with deployment pipeline standards and quality gates.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Alternatively, 4 years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software testing roles with a high school diploma.
• Capability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Foundational knowledge of test automation principles.
• Experience in writing automated test scripts in at least one framework or scripting language, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Python, or Java.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and DevSecOps principles.
• Basic experience with defect tracking tools, preferably JIRA.
• Understanding of the software testing lifecycle, encompassing unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to clearly and accurately document test activities and results.
• Capacity to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with developers, senior engineers, and Government stakeholders.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent (preferred).
• Exposure to SAST or DAST tools such as Fortify, Sonatype, or BURP (preferred).
• Experience with Section 508 / WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility testing (preferred).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration within a DevSecOps environment (preferred).
• Prior experience supporting DoD or Federal government IT programs (preferred).
• Exposure to Oracle or PL/SQL database environments (preferred).
• Familiarity with ServiceNow for incident tracking and management (preferred).
