This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Utilize state item specifications to craft effective items for various projects, including ELP assessments.

• Collaborate under the guidance of an overall project content lead to supervise item pool development for a state or a consortium of states.

• Facilitate group reviews and independently perform preliminary and content review 1 across all projects.

• Conduct senior reviews for all ELP assessment initiatives.

• Oversee educator content review, rubric validation, range finding, and data review meetings across projects, with a focus on ELP assessment projects.

• Engage in standard-setting meetings as a content expert.

• Spearhead item development for project content areas.

• Create blueprints and convert them into an item pool development plan, with oversight.

• Execute increasingly independent interactions with clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching English as a second language, bilingual education, or applied linguistics, along with 5–8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 1–4 years of experience.

• At least 4 years of experience in teaching ELs/MLLs and/or developing content within an Educational Assessment context.

• Strong understanding and experience with the U.S. Education system and Educational Assessment, particularly state and federal regulations concerning the screening and annual assessment of ELs/MLLs in K–12 education is preferred.

• Up-to-date knowledge of trends, practices, and research related to language acquisition, including the design of assessments across the four domains, is highly desired.

• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to identify issues and conceptualize solutions.

• Proficiency in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong collaboration skills.

• Willingness to travel for 1 week up to 8 trips per year, with trips lasting between 2 to 5 days.

• Must be a resident and work within the United States.
