Test Automation Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Create, implement, and uphold automated testing scripts to enhance coverage and minimize manual efforts.

• Oversee integrated testing that encompasses unit, functional, accessibility, system, reliability, usability, interoperability, regression, security, and performance/load testing.

• Develop and sustain Test Plans utilizing the VA Quality Manager tool.

• Provide Test Strategy and Test Execution documentation using templates supplied by the VA.

• Manage test cases, test scripts, test data, execution results, and related artifacts within VA-approved tools.

• Maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix ensuring bi-directional traceability among requirements, tests, defects, and releases.

• Oversee the defect lifecycle, ensuring defects are logged within one business day, severity/impact is assigned, and support is provided for prioritization and resolution.

• Enforce release readiness criteria prior to production deployment.

• Conduct security scans using WASA, Fortify, and other dependency/vulnerability scanning tools.

• Assist with security assessments, Section 508 reviews, performance/load testing, and architectural compliance evaluations.

• Utilize VA TRM-approved automation tools.

• Monitor test execution and reporting through VA Quality Manager.

• Continuously enhance testing methodologies, automation capabilities, and overall test quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline along with 13 years of relevant experience.

• Over 7 years of software testing experience, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to test automation in federal IT settings.

• Proficient in Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Postman, JUnit/NUnit.

• Experienced with CI/CD-integrated testing pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.

• Familiar with Fortify, WASA, OWASP ZAP, or other equivalent VA-approved security testing tools.

• Background in Section 508 accessibility testing and compliance.

• Understanding of performance and load testing methodologies and tools.

• Proficient in VA Quality Manager and RTM compliance.

• Familiarity with Jira and GitHub for test management and traceability.

• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 security controls related to testing and ATO compliance.

• Must qualify for VA background investigation.

• Must reside in the US.

• Preferred: ISTQB Agile Tester Certification.

• Preferred: SAFe Agilist or Certified Scrum Master.

• Preferred: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent.
