Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct inspections of vehicle conditions on-site for dealer clients within a designated territory.

• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles located on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and available options.

• Accurately enter vehicle data into inspection systems.

• Assess and document both the exterior and interior condition of the vehicles.

• Perform basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

• Identify and document any damage, missing components, and non-functional features.

• Foster trust and strong relationships with dealer clients.

• Educate clients about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and participation rates.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity within the territory.

• Adapt to changes in daily schedules and appointments.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Use Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams at Manheim.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process enhancements.

• Maintain production standards while adhering to safety and health procedures.

• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Comply with Manheim's inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• Mentor and support less experienced Mobile Inspectors at the Senior Level.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED is required for Mobile Inspector – Level 1.

• For Mobile Inspector – Level 2: A High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• For Mobile Inspector – Senior Level: A High School Diploma or GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for the Senior Level.

• Strong automotive knowledge, including body and mechanical aspects, is required for the Senior Level.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for the Senior Level.

• At least 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within prescribed timeframes.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
