This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +3 more states.
• Oversee all sales, marketing, and account management functions for accounts within the designated territory.
• Increase the company’s market presence by managing, maintaining, and expanding the distributor network.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to support sales and profitability objectives.
• Address technical inquiries and installation requirements through extensive product knowledge.
• Cultivate communication networks and relationships with distributors, engineers, and local governments.
• Analyze current and prospective distributor volumes to effectively direct sales initiatives.
• Implement the company’s pricing strategy to ensure sufficient margins and returns.
• Provide weekly updates to management regarding market conditions.
• Maintain records of customer interactions and opportunity management within the designated software.
• Diagnose product issues both in the field and via phone support.
• Serve as a liaison between end users, clients, and the organization.
• Educate and train distributor sales representatives on product offerings and marketing strategies.
• Engage in trade associations, seminars, trade shows, and presentations.
• Communicate with the National Sales Manager about territory requirements, issues, and resource allocation.
• Prepare price quotes and proposals.
• Track competitor pricing, products, delivery timelines, and marketing strategies.
• Uphold and advocate for The McWane Way principles.
• Execute various sales and service tasks as assigned by management.
• Travel approximately 75% of the time and operate from a home office for about 25% of the time.
• Work in both office and field settings, with potential exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, machinery, dust, fumes, gases, odors, vibrations, noise, and products under air or water pressure.
• Must reside in the assigned territory (Ohio, West Virginia, or Michigan) or be willing to relocate.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of five years of industrial sales experience is required, ideally in the waterworks industry; or completion of the McWane Sales Trainee program.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary.
• Must be self-driven and able to work independently.
• Ability to negotiate and finalize deals while maintaining a strong customer service focus is essential.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean DMV driving record that can be insured.
• Must be physically and visually capable of disassembling moderately to complex mechanical products and communicating product details to customers and the factory.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to compose reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to present information and address questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Capability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to resolve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
• Knowledge of internet, inventory, manufacturing, order processing, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or transport up to 50 pounds.
