This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Foster growth by linking libraries throughout Africa with technology that enhances learning, discovery, and community impact.
• Design and implement strategic sales initiatives targeting library, corporate, and government sectors.
• Cultivate enduring customer relationships and provide scalable solutions that adapt to changing customer requirements.
• Propel sales, customer acquisition, account development, and customer success.
• Formulate and execute territory sales strategies alongside the Senior Area Manager, utilizing market insights and performance metrics.
• Oversee existing customer relationships to promote retention and partner expansion.
• Re-engage former clients and reduce churn rates.
• Identify new business opportunities, forge partnerships, and meet sales goals.
• Interact with customers and potential clients through sales calls, demonstrations, product trials, proposals, and follow-ups.
• Establish connections with industry leaders, influencers, and key stakeholders.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of PressReader products and services while staying updated on market trends.
• Generate sales activity reports and participate in business planning.
• Lead and assist in-market sales agents and channel partners.
• Travel within the designated territory and internationally as necessary.
• Execute other related tasks as assigned by the Direct Manager.
• Over 5 years of successful B2B sales experience with a demonstrated history of achieving or surpassing sales targets.
• Proven experience managing a multi-country sales territory and navigating the complete sales cycle, from prospecting to closing and account development.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
• Proficiency in additional African languages is considered an advantage.
• Strong business insight and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent negotiation and closing abilities.
• Capacity to build trustworthy relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Aptitude for developing and executing strategic territory and business plans based on sales data and market insights.
• Strong critical thinking, proactive problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
• Technologically savvy and comfortable with learning and adopting new tools and technologies.
• Willingness to travel within the territory and internationally as required.
• Experience with client referral and advocacy programs is a plus.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is an added advantage, though not mandatory.
• A keen interest in digital publishing and news media is a bonus.
• Experience in selling SaaS, digital media, or subscription-based solutions is desirable.
• Background in working with libraries, especially multi-site library systems or organizations, education, or corporate sectors is beneficial.
• Familiarity with African library markets is advantageous.
• Experience in developing new markets, territories, or strategic partnerships is a plus.
• Knowledge of Salesforce or another enterprise CRM platform is a bonus.
