This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Identify, develop, and enhance agency relationships across Connecticut through face-to-face meetings, virtual interactions, phone communications, and emails.
• Present sales proposals to potential agencies and agency leaders.
• Evaluate agency performance, including revenue, profitability, and production metrics to discover opportunities and drive outcomes.
• Offer insights on performance, business development tactics, and recommendations for profitable expansion.
• Collaborate with management to formulate territory and state strategies.
• Establish and nurture relationships with agency partners and internal teams.
• Educate and train agents on underwriting standards, procedures, products, programs, website features, and web rating tools.
• Assist agency partners in understanding company resources and aligning with profitability objectives.
• Keep an eye on market trends and competitive insights, suggesting strategies to enhance the company's market position in Connecticut.
• Conduct regular visits to agencies and ensure accurate documentation of agency relationships and activities.
• Oversee assigned agencies, which includes new agency appointments, necessary documentation, call reports, performance updates, and agency terminations when needed.
• Relay agent feedback, product opportunities, and market requirements to relevant internal teams.
• Represent the organization at agency meetings, industry gatherings, trade shows, and conventions.
• Engage in sales meetings, training sessions, and other company initiatives.
• Travel frequently across the designated territory, including regular overnight trips.
• Maintain professional communication with colleagues, management, clients, vendors, and agency partners.
• Conduct business in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
• Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance industry.
• At least 3 years of experience in territory management or a related sales role.
• An associate or bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
• A P&C insurance license, relevant insurance industry qualifications, and/or prior experience with an insurance agency are required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard business technology.
• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation abilities.
• Proven capability to manage a territory independently and consistently achieve results.
• Willingness and capacity to travel extensively throughout Connecticut and occasionally visit other company locations.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is mandatory.
