This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Perform timely searches for relevant documents in response to FOIA requests.
• Liaise with both internal and external document custodians and stakeholders to locate necessary information and prepare draft responses.
• Collect and organize information for both ad hoc and standard requests.
• Safeguard confidential information and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by redacting details using Adobe Pro or by requesting redacted copies.
• Compose responses for the OCC, requestors, and senior management as required.
• Review, assess, and structure collected data to develop draft responses for OCC review in accordance with FOIA policies and procedures.
• Distribute responsive records to requesters within designated timeframes.
• Monitor requests and inquiries against established deadlines.
• Update case files in FOIAXpress.
• Provide weekly reports and status updates to the FOIA Officer.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned to ensure timely project completion.
• Adhere to environmental, safety, and health policies, and report any unsafe operations.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or a related degree in Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, Political Science, or Intellectual Property.
• At least 5 years of office experience in administrative, technical, and/or customer service roles.
• Practical understanding of subject matter areas pertaining to the agency's core programs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Pro, and FOIAXpress.
• Strong grammatical and proofreading capabilities.
• Ability to anticipate needs, apply judgment, and select from various methods and procedures to prioritize and manage tasks.
• Capability to communicate and engage with individuals at different management levels, both in person and via telephone.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Capacity to work under time constraints and efficiently for extended periods to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to operate standard office equipment including computers, phones, fax machines, copiers, printers, and other related media and information devices.
• Detail-oriented.
• Possess an excellent attitude, courteous and professional demeanor, and be an enthusiastic team player.

• Upon acceptance of an offer, may be required to undergo background checks, drug testing, and/or a fit-for-duty physical examination.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or Juris Doctor (JD) Law Degree.
