This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Conduct timely searches for responsive documents to gather data for FOIA requests.
• Liaise with internal and external document custodians and stakeholders to locate requested information and organize draft responses.
• Collect and compile information for both standard and ad hoc requests.
• Safeguard confidential information and PII by redacting data using Adobe Pro Software or by requesting redacted copies.
• Prepare responses for OCC, requestors, and senior management as needed.
• Review, analyze, and organize gathered data to create draft responses for OCC review, ensuring compliance with FOIA policy and established procedures.
• Release responsive records to requesters within designated timeframes.
• Monitor requests and inquiries against deadlines.
• Update case files in FOIAXpress.
• Provide weekly reports and updates to the FOIA Officer regarding case status.
• Execute additional duties as assigned to ensure timely project delivery.
• Adhere to ES&H/ISM policies, remain aware of hazards, report unsafe operations, and participate in ES&H/ISM program activities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or an associate degree in Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, Political Science, or Intellectual Property.
• Practical knowledge of subject matter areas relevant to the agency's substantive programs.
• Minimum of 5 years’ office experience in administrative, technical, and/or customer service roles.
• Proficient in Microsoft products, Adobe Pro, and FOIAXpress.
• Exceptional grammatical and proofreading capabilities.
• Ability to anticipate needs, exercise judgment, and select from a wide range of methods and procedures to prioritize and manage tasks.
• Strong communication skills to interact with individuals at various management levels, both in person and via telephone.
• Capacity to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capability to work under time constraints and efficiently for extended periods to meet deadlines.
• Must be adept at operating general office equipment including computers, phones, fax machines, copiers, printers, and related media and information devices.
• Detail-oriented.
• Possess an excellent attitude, courteous and professional demeanor, and be an enthusiastic team member.
• Must adhere to applicable environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures.
• Should engage only in tasks that align with the required competence, training, skills, and abilities.

• Preferred: A Master’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or a Juris Doctor (JD) Law Degree.
