Temporary Clinician, Utilization Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and finalize initial and concurrent authorization requests

• Perform thorough behavioral health utilization assessments

• Utilize medical necessity criteria, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practices to ascertain suitable levels of care

• Manage incoming phone communications from the provider network

• Work collaboratively with members, families, providers, and clients to facilitate care coordination

• Assist in accessing behavioral health services

• Support discharge planning efforts and foster successful treatment results

• Ensure accurate documentation and proficient use of clinical systems

• Adhere to regulatory and accreditation standards

• Fulfill caseload requirements and team objectives

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid, unrestricted license granted by a state or territory in the U.S. to practice independently as a clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, professional counselor, clinical psychologist, or registered nurse

• At least two years of direct clinical care experience with patients in facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric or substance abuse treatment

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities

• Proficient computer and typing skills, including the capacity to document while gathering information over the phone

• Ability to understand medical policies and criteria to effectively communicate health information

• Capability to pass a background check upon hiring and throughout employment, encompassing criminal history, employment verification, education checks, healthcare sanctions, prohibited parties, sex offender registry, and 10-Panel Drug Screen checks

• High-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 20 Mbps, upload speed of 5 Mbps, and maximum latency of 100 milliseconds

• Wired internet connection required

• Ability to work from a designated, fixed workspace at home with minimal background noise

• Capability to sit for extended periods and engage in repetitive typing tasks

• Skill in multitasking, managing various priorities, working independently, and collaborating effectively
