Temp Credit Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Pursue outstanding invoices through phone and email, focusing on the oldest and largest balances.

• Oversee dunning sequences and customer communication activities in Upflow.

• Address invoice inquiries and disputes with Customer Success, Billing, and Sales to facilitate payments within SLAs.

• Negotiate payment arrangements and keep accurate records of communications, payment commitments, and account statuses.

• Elevate payment plans, credit-risk issues, and high-risk accounts to the line manager.

• Conduct customer account reconciliations, aligning receipts, invoices, and credit notes.

• Reassign unapplied cash, debits, and credits to the appropriate invoices, customers, and entities.

• Resolve unreconciled items and clear receivables-related suspense balances.

• Assist in cleaning customer master data and support the validation of opening AR balances for migration.

• Identify process gaps and data issues to ensure they are addressed at the source.

• Provide regular updates on collections, aged-debt movements, cleared items, and unresolved issues.

• Aid in finance system migration readiness and complete handover documentation.

• Collaborate with the Credit Control team and cross-functional teams in Customer Success, Billing, and Sales.

• Key success milestones include becoming operational in Xero and Upflow, identifying priority accounts, advancing reconciliations and reallocations, reducing credit balances, resolving assigned accounts, validating opening AR balances, and finalizing handover notes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of recent experience with Xero.

• At least 3 years of credit control experience.

• Comprehensive experience in account and bank reconciliations.

• Over 3 years of credit control experience, including proactive telephone and email collections, dispute resolution, dunning workflows, and escalation of high-risk accounts.

• More than 2 years of recent, hands-on experience with Xero, including allocations, credit notes, customer reconciliations, and AR reporting.

• Significant account and bank reconciliation experience, utilizing Excel, Xero, and other tools to match receipts with invoices, investigate discrepancies, and clear unapplied cash.

• Experience managing multi-currency AR ledgers across various entities.

• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, including lookups, pivots, and reconciliations.

• Confident in following up with customers via phone and email in a firm yet professional manner.

• High attention to detail and a systematic approach to rectifying historical data.

• Availability to start immediately and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
