Senior IFRS Accountant, Financial Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Assume comprehensive responsibility for IFRS accounting and financial reporting for designated international legal entities.

• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring ledger accuracy and conducting intercompany reconciliations.

• Independently manage statutory audits and tax reviews while providing support for consolidated group audits.

• Engage in tax planning, corporate restructuring, and liquidation activities.

• Evaluate contracts from an accounting and tax viewpoint, pinpointing financial risks and implications.

• Collaborate with external auditors, tax consultants, banking institutions, and internal stakeholders.

• Guarantee the precise and prompt collection of financial documentation.

• Discover opportunities to enhance, automate, and refine accounting and reporting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in IFRS accounting, financial reporting, financial control, or external audit.

• Strong practical knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.

• Experience working with international firms or across multiple legal entities.

• Familiarity with corporate taxation, VAT, and withholding tax regulations.

• Proficient in financial closing processes, reconciliations, and audit activities.

• Proficient in English at B2 level or higher, with confident verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to manage complex or non-standard financial tasks.

• Proactive, self-reliant, and solution-focused mindset with a robust sense of ownership.

• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.

• ACCA, DipIFR, CPA, or a relevant certification in progress is considered a plus.

• Experience with European jurisdictions, especially Cyprus, is an advantage.

• Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, and 1C accounting systems is a plus.

• Experience in banking compliance and KYC protocols is advantageous.
