This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the system design for intricate, high-impact projects from analysis to execution.

• Assume full responsibility for mission-critical services, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and long-term viability.

• Strategically manage and mitigate technical debt.

• Create cost-effective, cloud-native solutions.

• Establish and maintain standards for code quality, testing, observability, security, and documentation.

• Advocate for automated testing and shift-left quality methodologies.

• Support and promote DevSecOps principles.

• Guide through code reviews, design documentation, and retrospectives.

• Propel the delivery of complex, multi-phase projects.

• Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Architects to define the technical roadmap.

• Convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Identify potential risks early and proactively eliminate obstacles.

• Develop and enhance AWS-based, cloud-native systems.

• Manage application code and infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code.

• Design and oversee CI/CD pipelines.

• Assist in incident response and ongoing reliability improvements.

• Offer technical mentorship and architectural direction.

• Facilitate the hiring and onboarding process for engineers.

• Promote the use of AI-assisted development tools.


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Senior Engineer managing complex systems in production.

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and expertise in cloud-native architecture.

• Proficient in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Java, or Node.js.

• Comprehensive understanding of system design, distributed systems, scalability, APIs, and data modeling.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.

• Strong background in CI/CD and observability practices.

• Proven experience in implementing robust testing strategies.

• Comfortable collaborating across functions in Agile settings.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to navigate ambiguous situations effectively.
