Technician, EV Charging Field Service

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/revisions on Level 2 EV chargers and DC Fast Chargers

• Execute insulation testing, thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations

• Diagnose system performance issues and identify/isolate ground faults

• Collaborate with the Planning and Scheduling team to follow maintenance schedules

• Accurately complete work orders in a timely manner

• Review site manuals and schematics for appropriate equipment service and maintenance

• Carry out electrical and mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance

• Generate site field reports and document all site-related issues in the work order system

• Address site concerns promptly

• Conduct site safety assessments and fulfill required safety documentation


⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside within one hour of San Jose, California

• 2+ years of relevant experience in servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy sector and/or formal electrical training

• Proficient electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills

• Preferred, but not required, technical knowledge of EV chargers, solar power installations, or other relevant power electronics

• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office

• Ability to analyze and resolve issues independently

• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English

• Capability to work under various weather conditions

• Ability to operate around high voltages and currents

• Required to wear personal protective equipment, including a hard hat and safety glasses

• Capacity to perform repetitive movements with legs, arms, hands, and fingers

• Ability to conduct site safety assessments and identify safety hazards

• Competence in generating and completing JHA, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and other safety-related documentation in accordance with OSHA and site-specific requirements
