Technical Writer – Instructional Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create engaging hands-on technical workshops centered on LLMs, AI developer tools, APIs, and vector database systems.

• Take ownership of curriculum development, encompassing learning objectives, workshop design, technical prerequisites, and instructional resources.

• Produce technical documentation, presentations, interactive exercises, code walkthroughs, lab guides, and resources for instructors.

• Develop and maintain documentation for APIs, SDKs, and developer tools.

• Simplify intricate AI and software engineering concepts into accessible learning experiences.

• Assess existing technical content, pinpoint documentation gaps, and enhance clarity, consistency, and usability.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical accuracy and validate workshop exercises.

• Work closely with engineering, product, and research teams to grasp evolving tools, workflows, and technical needs.

• Independently oversee content development, manage technical reviews, and integrate feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, developer education, technical curriculum development, or a similar field.

• Proven track record in creating hands-on technical workshops, developer training materials, and comprehensive technical documentation.

• Strong knowledge of LLMs, generative AI, prompting, APIs, and vector database systems.

• Experience in developing technical content for software engineers, application developers, platform engineers, or similarly technical audiences.

• Outstanding technical writing and editing abilities, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly while maintaining technical precision.

• Proficient in reading, understanding, and explaining code examples in Python, TypeScript, or analogous programming languages.

• Familiar with software development workflows, including Git/GitHub, Markdown/MDX, version control, and testing procedures.

• Experience collaborating with engineers to validate technical documentation, troubleshoot exercises, and enhance developer learning experiences.

• Strong organizational skills with the capability to independently manage multiple content deliverables in a dynamic environment.

• A portfolio demonstrating technical writing, developer documentation, instructional materials, or hands-on technical workshops.

• Availability for rotating on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays.
