This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of one or more documentation portfolios from start to finish, including requirements gathering, scoping, information architecture, deliverables, publishing, and ongoing maintenance.
• Create and update operational, installation, and configuration procedures.
• Publish content across various platforms, including web-based publications, embedded user assistance, multimedia, and print.
• Conduct interviews with developers, users, and technical subject matter experts to collect technical information.
• Develop structured, user-friendly documentation that prioritizes customer experience and content usability.
• Work collaboratively with UX, Engineering, Support, Training, and Marketing teams.
• Promote a customer-first content strategy and oversee change management initiatives.
• Evaluate tools, workflows, and deliverables to identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements.
• Suggest and spearhead the implementation of innovative process solutions.
• Investigate and advocate for modern solutions to elevate documentation quality and enhance customer content experiences.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering various types of publications, including online content syndication and multi-channel outputs.
• Professional expertise in MadCap Flare authoring, single-sourcing, and publishing workflows.
• Practical experience in creating “HTML-first” documentation where “every page is page one” (structured, topic-based writing).
• Capability to effectively use AI writing and productivity tools.
• Outstanding communication and consensus-building abilities, with a proven history of leading by influence across diverse business teams.
• Strong familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience in managing and standardizing complex hardware and/or software manuals throughout the entire product lifecycle is highly desirable.
• A customer-advocate approach to technical content is highly desirable.
• A strong emphasis on process efficiencies and continuous workflow improvements is highly desirable.
• Experience with Git-based source control and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is highly desirable.
• A Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of experience in technical writing (or a related field) OR 3+ years of technical writing experience.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada indefinitely is required.
