Technical Writer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Develop, revise, and sustain reports, manuals, procedures, guides, and technical documentation.

• Collect information from subject matter experts, technical teams, and existing documentation to create precise content.

• Conduct research and analyze technical specifications, diagrams, drawings, and related materials.

• Structure content to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, and compliance with established standards.

• Review and refresh documentation to align with changes in processes, systems, or procedures.

• Manage document reviews and uphold version control and revision records.

• Partner with stakeholders to create training, instructional, and operational materials.

• Choose and integrate charts, diagrams, illustrations, and screenshots to enhance documentation quality.

• Assist in the publication, distribution, and upkeep of technical materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• 3-5 years of experience in technical writing.

• Active Security clearance is required.

• Experience in producing and revising technical, operational, or procedural documentation.

• Excellent written communication, proofreading, and editing abilities.

• Capability to interpret technical information and present it in an accessible format.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software.

• Strong attention to detail and well-developed organizational skills.

• Experience in supporting engineering, manufacturing, government, or technical operations environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with technical drawings, diagrams, specifications, or equipment documentation is preferred.

• Experience in developing training materials, user guides, or process documentation is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple documentation projects concurrently is preferred.
