This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and analyze reports submitted for publication.

• Create, document, and maintain production timelines aligned with established publication deadlines.

• Define, monitor, and communicate project milestones from the initiation of reports to their final dissemination.

• Oversee workflow utilizing approved job tracking systems and file retention protocols.

• Conduct substantive and technical editing of complex scientific reports using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe InCopy.

• Provide expertise in style guides and ensure adherence to style guides as well as plain language standards.

• Review and amend medical and scientific terminology.

• Edit and format narrative text, tables, figures, references, graphics, and supplementary materials.

• Act as the main point of contact between authors and production staff.

• Consolidate, communicate, and address reviewer comments.

• Guide authors on edits, revisions, and publication requirements.

• Collaborate on layout and design, corrections, 508 remediation, and web posting.

• Track and manage corrections until final approval to ensure accuracy and version control.

• Transmit, store, and archive deliverables following recordkeeping and electronic file management procedures.

• Coordinate and oversee web posting activities.

• Verify the accuracy and functionality of content published online.

• Assist with the submission and indexing of published reports in Stacks and PubMed.

• Ensure that metadata and documentation are thorough and precise.

• Meet production deadlines for editing, review, clearance, and publication milestones.

• Participate in regular team and staff meetings.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional writing and editing experience in health communications.

• Proven expertise in technical editing, proofreading, and producing clear, accurate, data-driven content for varied audiences.

• Exceptional attention to detail and compliance with style guidelines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.

• Familiarity with PerfectIt and Adobe InCopy is preferred.

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to set and enforce timelines, coordinate with authors and production teams, manage revisions, and act as a liaison.

• Capability to secure government clearance.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, both now and in the future.

• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, or a related field.

• A Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) is strongly preferred.

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.

• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.

• Regular lifting of 25 pounds may be necessary.
