This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, compose, and refine technical and program documentation, which includes Project Management Plans, Risk Management Plans, Change Management Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), onboarding materials, and monthly status reports.
• Work in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), engineers, and program personnel to collect technical data and create precise project documentation.
• Convert intricate technical concepts into straightforward, concise, and user-friendly documentation suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Conduct editing and quality assurance evaluations to ensure clarity, accuracy, grammatical correctness, formatting, and consistency.
• Manage document version control while ensuring uniform formatting, structure, and style across all program deliverables.
• Generate PowerPoint presentations, charts, diagrams, and visual aids for technical documentation and program reporting.
• Oversee documentation repositories, including the organization of project deliverables within SharePoint or other document management systems.
• Assist with program reporting and PMO documentation necessities while ensuring coherent messaging and presentation throughout deliverables.
• Operate under the guidance of the Project Manager.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, engineers, project managers, and program staff to support the IHS Health IT Modernization Program.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.
• Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including a drug and breath alcohol test and Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• 3–5 years of experience in Technical Writing.
• Proficiency in writing, editing, and formatting complex technical and program documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams that include technical staff, program managers, and leadership.
• Competence in managing multiple tasks and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capacity to handle sensitive or confidential information with appropriate discretion.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting government contracts, statements of work, and program documentation.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams, including growth, operations, corporate staff, and designated technical experts.
• Adherence to style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style, MLA, and AP Style.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional skills in proofreading and formatting.
• Competence in desktop publishing.
• Advanced grammar and editing capabilities.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Experience in supporting federal government contracts is preferred.
• Current Public Trust clearance is preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Visio is preferred but not required.
• Remote work opportunities.
