Technical Staff Member – Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement a cutting-edge data platform that accommodates both batch and real-time integrations, advanced analytics, and diverse data types.

• Utilize Kafka, Kafka-based tools, and streaming technologies for the movement and processing of real-time data.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, product, and senior leadership teams to create business-aligned architectural solutions.

• Establish guidelines for data ingestion, creation, enrichment, and storage practices.

• Supervise data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing utilizing ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake.

• Create comprehensive solutions while setting high standards for engineering excellence.

• Mentor and guide engineers, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.

• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Legal teams to uphold data protection standards.

• Advocate for high availability and fault tolerance through effective monitoring, alerting, and incident response strategies.

• Lead architectural decisions, roadmap planning, and build-vs-buy assessments.

• Work alongside data science and machine learning teams to develop infrastructure for advanced analytics and AI projects.

• Choose essential data architectures and technologies, and develop strategic roadmaps to enhance data platform maturity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or similar roles.

• A minimum of 5 years at the Principal Engineer level.

• Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale data infrastructures in complex, high-paced environments.

• Familiarity with Kafka and its ecosystem, including Kafka Streams and the Confluent Platform.

• Experience with ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake, and various big data frameworks.

• Proficient in AWS, GCP, or Azure along with their associated big data services.

• Strong expertise in data governance and security measures.

• Ability to ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and safeguard sensitive information.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Capacity to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders across different organizational levels.

• Skill to mentor teams, foster consensus, and advocate for best practices.

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Industry recognition or significant contributions to data engineering is an advantage.
