Technical Service Specialist – Midlands

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance to Abbott’s clientele throughout the Midlands.

• Manage installations and deinstallations of equipment.

• Conduct repairs and upgrades for instrument hardware or software.

• Offer foundational training to customers and Abbott Ambassadors.

• Plan and execute scheduled maintenance tasks.

• Conduct inspections of new customers and laboratory sites for contract/tender preparations and installation design.

• Facilitate or support the installation of instruments, AbbottLink, and automation systems.

• Execute IQOQ procedures during and following installations.

• Support customer business reviews.

• Schedule, carry out, and document hardware and software updates (TSBs).

• Provide introductory training for customer operators after installations or hardware/software updates.

• Offer basic technical coaching and training to fellow Technical Service Specialists.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is mandatory.

• A Bachelor’s or Engineering degree in medical, electrical, mechanical, or medical technology is preferred.

• A proven history in a similar role, validated by management and customer references.

• Successful interaction with clients, particularly key stakeholders and lab personnel.

• Strong knowledge of products and the industry.

• Extensive experience and proficiency in service delivery business functions.

• Exceptional communication abilities.

• Capability to identify and facilitate the resolution of issues.

• Technical knowledge specific to product line responsibilities.

• Skills in coaching and training.

• Significant experience using analytical tools and software.

• Willingness and ability to travel 75% of the time.

• Capability to operate a personal vehicle, company car or truck, or powered material handling equipment.
