📋 Description

• Open and review assigned PDF-page tasks.

• Verify that pages are in Japanese, legible, contain authentic content, and do not display personal information.

• Identify and outline every significant page region.

• Assign component types and establish reading-order indexes.

• Connect regions to their corresponding figures or tables using parent component identifiers.

• Accurately transcribe all text as it appears, including Japanese scripts, furigana, and handwritten material.

• Highlight illegible source regions.

• Capture language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.

• Review the annotation work of colleagues from start to finish.

• Generate human-authored structural annotations and transcriptions for AI training data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native Japanese speaker with a comprehensive understanding of kanji, hiragana, and katakana, including furigana and variant character forms.

• Professional background in interpretation, journalism, transcription, translation, editorial tasks, or similar document-heavy roles.

• Exceptional character-level accuracy and attention to detail.

• Capability to consistently apply a taxonomy across numerous pages.

• Comfortable with vertical text, multi-column newspapers, exam papers, and handwritten forms.

• Fluent Japanese is essential; all annotation and transcription tasks are executed in Japanese.

• Status as an independent contractor.

• Must be capable of working with unfamiliar document layouts.

• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported.
