Technical Service Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the delivery of both planned and reactive Hard FM services across all properties, ensuring operational performance, health and safety, human resource management, quality, compliance, and adherence to service level agreements.

• Evaluate and revise site-specific policies and operational procedures to align with the value framework and ISO 9001 standards.

• Create and implement best practices and working initiatives for operations.

• Guarantee that building regulations, statutory obligations, legislative compliance, and optimal working practices are effectively executed.

• Contribute to building activity schedules and major building events, including black building tests, M&E audits, actions, and document reviews.

• Cultivate collaborative relationships among the management team, service partners, and stakeholders.

• Track operational performance and generate formal monthly performance reports.

• Manage service partners and contract performance, including relationship management, contract administration, and operational enhancements.

• Serve as the Responsible Person for Legionella (Water).

• Develop and maintain a contract risk register.

• Provide availability for critical call-outs outside normal hours.

• Create technical reports for significant reactive breakdowns, client requests, and approvals for additional expenditures.

• Establish risk management controls, procedures, health and safety systems, audits, and contingency plans.

• Conduct monthly meetings with service partners, ensuring KPIs, SLAs, and reports are completed accurately and promptly.

• Maintain contracts within budget while identifying opportunities to enhance customer service and reduce costs.

• Build constructive, long-term relationships with clients.

• Lead portfolio energy management initiatives, optimizing building performance and reporting.

• Contribute to SMART building technology platforms and data analysis.

• Ensure client assets function at peak performance, managing energy in accordance with accreditations such as NABERS.

• Execute one-off and non-contractual operational tasks, out-of-hours occupier events, and special projects.

• Exemplify HSE behaviors and lead the HSE culture.

• Conduct site safety inspections and audits.

• Ensure team compliance with HSE legislation, processes, and policies, including accident investigations, reporting, risk assessments, and audits.

• Manage contract P&L performance, budgets, aged debt, and work-in-progress recovery.

• Understand commercial contracts, scopes of service, and cost models.

• Submit invoices promptly and apply for extensions as needed.

• Operate within authority levels and established protocols for Small/Extra Works.

• Provide quotes for additional profitable revenue opportunities.

• Issue purchase orders to the contracted supply chain.

• Oversee supply chain invoice submissions, ensuring payment aligns with delivery standards.

• Develop cost books and adhere to the CRB process.


⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant industry qualifications.

• Proficiency in CAFM, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Ideally possess a minimum of 10 years of experience at a technical engineering management level.

• Hold a National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health accredited by NEBOSH or IOSH.

• Demonstrated expertise in technical problem-solving.

• Capability to communicate technical topics to non-technical clients and team members.

• Proficiency in producing technical reports.

• Ability to manage change across diverse groups and advocate for best practices and strategic advice.

• Ability to pass a DBS check at the expense of JLL.
