
Technical Service Lead – EMEA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +3 more countries.
• Oversee and guide the team for the Easy Open End and Personal Care segments.
• Offer technical service and trial assistance to clients throughout the EMEA region.
• Participate in significant trials across the entire EMEA area.
• Optimize machinery settings for enhanced performance.
• Ensure that trials and plant-related activities adhere to EHS policies and established standards.
• Provide technical assistance to customers regarding new technologies as well as legacy products.
• Lead technical support efforts for key customers.
• Implement Best-in-Class line trial and plant audit practices within Coatings across EMEA.
• Conduct training programs for PPG and customer facility staff.
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers to bolster PPG's technical support capabilities.
• Offer post-conversion technical assistance and address issues using established problem analysis methods.
• Initiate continuous improvement initiatives at customer facilities.
• Build collaborative relationships with plants and PPG colleagues.
• Share insights and data globally via the Technical Support SharePoint site.
• Execute troubleshooting tasks at customer locations.
• Investigate unsuccessful trials and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with Segment Support labs to evaluate trial can items and assist local development projects.
• Report to the Technical Service Manager for the EMEA region.
• At least 5 years of experience in a technical support or service role within the coatings or packaging sector.
• Background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Proficient in English at a professional level.
• Willingness to travel within the EMEA region (up to 70%).
• Prior experience with end-makers or in engineering roles.
• Capability to operate in accordance with EHS policies and established standards.
• Proficient in using Secure Launch and other PPG quality tools.
• Skilled in applying established problem analysis techniques, including Kepner-Tregoe methodologies.
