This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee full lifecycle implementation projects, encompassing planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
• Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors.
• Create and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate data migration efforts, including data mapping, transformation logic, validation, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
• Supervise GIS, ETL, API, middleware, and integration efforts with external enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with technical leads to establish solution architecture, data flows, and system interfaces.
• Align project management efforts between customers and VertiGIS technical delivery teams.
• Manage risks, issues, and dependencies by employing proactive mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate UAT and SIT/UAT testing cycles, ensuring go-live readiness.
• Define and track KPIs such as schedule adherence, data quality, and system performance.
• Foster communication at all organizational levels, including executive reporting.
• Ensure adherence to documentation, governance, and change management processes.
• Assist with post-go-live stabilization, performance tuning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• VertiGIS specializes in GIS software for the design, management, and operation of complex networks and infrastructure, including telecom, utility, and public-sector systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in project management, ideally within telecom, utilities, or GIS sectors.
• PMP and/or Agile/Scrum certification.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering data migration and system implementation projects.
• Strong comprehension of data migration strategies and reconciliation processes.
• Solid understanding of GIS systems, including ArcGIS.
• In-depth knowledge of ETL processes and data integration methodologies.
• Experience in managing cross-functional and distributed teams.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, and Smartsheet.
• Capability to understand and engage in discussions regarding solution architecture and system design.
• Working knowledge of relational, geospatial, and asset-based data models.
• Familiarity with ETL tools like FME and SSIS, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of REST, SOAP, and microservices integration patterns.
• Experience with the ESRI ArcGIS ecosystem, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Feature Services.
• Acquainted with spatial data concepts like topology, coordinate systems, and geodatabases.
• Familiarity with telecom or utility network data structures, including fiber, circuits, outside plant, and network hierarchies.
• Ability to create or interpret SQL queries, data transformations, and data validation scripts.
• Capability to document and train on the delivered solutions.
• Experience with data quality frameworks, reconciliation reporting, and audit controls.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
