Technical Program Operations Lead – AI Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vietnam.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of program delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, quality standards, throughput, contributor performance, and budget.

• Design and oversee workflows for coding datasets, agentic trajectories, reinforcement learning environments, benchmarks, and evaluations based on rubrics.

• Detect operational bottlenecks and enhance workflows through improved instructions, sequencing, incentives, review procedures, and capacity planning.

• Establish contributor requirements and collaborate with talent acquisition teams to source, evaluate, onboard, train, and integrate distributed software engineers.

• Develop structures for team leads and reviewers for programs involving 100 to over 1,000 contributors.

• Manage quality-control systems and analyze datasets to uncover trends, systematic errors, and root causes.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers in AI labs, providing updates on progress, risks, quality trends, and recovery strategies.

• Convert research goals into actionable task specifications and challenge requirements that may not yield the desired evaluation results.

• Utilize Python, SQL, or similar tools to automate quality sampling, defect analysis, throughput reporting, and operational assessments.

• Transform successful workflows into repeatable playbooks, quality controls, evaluation resources, and contributor management systems.

• Disseminate operational insights and mentor other program leads.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading intricate, multi-stakeholder programs within software engineering, technical program management, consulting, finance, startups, operations, or a comparable field.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to pinpoint bottlenecks, establish meaningful metrics, and enhance production performance.

• Experience in managing distributed teams, contributor networks, marketplaces, or large-scale technical operations.

• Exceptional customer-facing communication skills, including setting expectations, conveying risks, and fostering long-term client relationships.

• Capability to read and review code, comprehend test suites, and independently evaluate technical work.

• Basic proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, TypeScript, Java, or Go.

• Experience in leveraging data and operational metrics to track quality, throughput, performance, and delivery outcomes.

• Ability to function effectively in environments where research requirements and priorities can shift rapidly.
