AI Engineering Enablement & Adoption Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the current use of AI, engineering workflows, skill levels, challenges, and opportunities within the team.

• Determine the most valuable use cases for AI-supported development.

• Assess AI tools and methodologies, providing recommendations on where to standardize, experiment, or refrain from adoption.

• Create a strategy for upskilling in AI engineering along with a prioritized roadmap.

• Develop repeatable practices, standards, playbooks, workflows, or reusable tools across various project teams.

• Enhance the skills of developers and Staff Engineers through practical application of AI in real development settings.

• Ensure that AI-assisted development adheres to standards concerning architecture, maintainability, testing, code review, security, privacy, and quality.

• Establish benchmarks and metrics to evaluate whether AI adoption enhances the software delivery profit margin.

• Assist SmartLogic in accelerating software development and improving quality through ethical AI-assisted practices.

• Consider client intellectual property, confidentiality requirements, sensitive health information, and diverse AI permissions across client projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as an AI engineering consultant or practitioner.

• Depth and judgment in software engineering at a Staff Engineer level.

• Extensive hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and coding tools in actual production environments.

• Proven track record of guiding engineers in utilizing AI without compromising standards of architecture, maintainability, testing, security, code review, and software quality.

• Experience in aiding engineering teams in the adoption of AI technologies.

• Background in developing practical workflows, standards, playbooks, or internal tools for use by other engineers.

• Strong comprehension of the risks and limitations associated with AI-generated software, including scenarios where AI assistance should be avoided.

• Experience in assessing AI's influence on software delivery without depending solely on superficial adoption metrics.

• Excellent coaching and communication abilities.

• Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

• Proposals should include relevant experience, similar engagements and their outcomes, proposed methodology, personnel and technical qualifications, engagement structure and timeline, pricing and payment details, as well as references or case studies if available.
